Solidaridad Internacional de Galicia

Solidaridad Internacional de Galicia (SIG) is a non-governmental organization located in Galicia, Spain. Since its creation in 1996, SIG's activity in the fields of International Cooperation, Education for Development and Global Citizenship and Fair Trade has been characterized by its constancy, continuity and complementarity between each of the areas. In its new Strategic Plan 2022-2027, comprehensive protection for human rights defenders is established as one of its strategic areas in the area of international cooperation, with special attention to women, as well as the promotion of reflection, training and incidence in relation to their realities. Currently, in addition to Galicia, SIG is present in 4 Latin American countries (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Bolivia), with 8 local partner organizations, with whom, in the last two years, it has developed 12 cooperation projects since a progressive and plural perspective, open to dialogue and the participation of partners and local actors.
