City of Asylum/Detroit brings powerful international voices for equality and justice to Detroit, where they build social equity through cultural exchange. Our flagship program is our two-year safe-haven fellowship for writers and artists who are in exile under threat of persecution. Our free public programs then uplift our fellows while offering opportunities for community members to engage with some of today’s most exciting artistic and literary talent.
